Interim Senior Committee and Governance Officer

 Highly motivated individual required to work at a senior level within the team responsible for managing the Council’s formal democratic and governance processes, including the council’s cabinet member decision-making structure, statutory and regulatory committees/sub-committees and policy and scrutiny committees.

Experience of clerking licensing committees and knowledge of the Licensing Act 2003 and the Gambling Act 2005 is desirable.

The successful candidate will be required to attend formal member level and other meetings (some of which may be held in the evening) and undertake all the associated tasks relating to the management of formal meetings in a modernised authority.

A highly organised person is required, able to work flexibly and without supervision, who is adept at meeting demanding deadlines in pressurised circumstances, possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and excellent IT skills.

Experience of the Mod.Gov committee management system and Microsoft Teams would be an advantage.
