About the role
This is a programme delivery role, working in the Community Housing service and is directly responsible for strategically managing the delivery of a range of service improvement initiatives relating to Temporary Accommodation. The role will report directly to the Assistant Director of Housing and will be responsible for driving delivery and leading on reporting and quality assurance. The role will also lead on ensuring that expected outcomes and planned benefits are monitored and delivered in line with the critical path. The role will work closely and collaboratively with the Corporate Head of Community Housing and colleagues within the service as well as key stakeholders e.g. Corporate Transformation & Improvement, Finance and Human Resources.
It is essential that applicants have technical knowledge and practical experience of public sector housing services to ensure that the project approach meets statutory, regulatory and legal requirements, as well as supporting the the Council’s key transformation design principles i.e. placing communities at the heart of all that we do, being digital first, a more commercial use of our assets, buying better, becoming a green council and working in an enabling way.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
● Knowledge and senior level experience of public sector Housing Services – essential.
● Experience of delivering change and transformation in a public sector environment
● Knowledge and understanding of Local Authority services
● Proven project/programme management skills and experience
● Strong analytical and commercial skills
● Experience of leading and managing complex change projects
● Strong leadership skills, modelling a performance culture and constructively building achievement, confidence and skills in others
● Ability to question and challenge conventional thinking, with a continual eye on the bigger picture in terms of the corporate context and external environment
● Ability to role model agility and adaptability in mindset and ways of working
● Ability to work effectively and successfully with key stakeholders including Members, residents, businesses, communities, partner organisations and other public services
● Commitment to own personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the role
● Proven ability to demonstrate a high level of innovation and creativity.
