Last updated: August 2026

Our commitment

Bamberry Consulting has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, servitude and human trafficking. We are committed to ethical recruitment and to protecting candidates and workers from exploitation.

Bamberry Consulting is committed to conducting its business ethically, responsibly and with respect for human rights.

We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, servitude and human traffickingand are committed to ensuring that these practices have no place within our business or in the organisations and relationships with which we work.

As a recruitment consultancy, we recognise our particular responsibility to ensure that recruitment is conducted fairly, transparently and professionally and that candidates and workers are protected from exploitation.

What is modern slavery?

Modern slavery is an umbrella term covering a range of forms of exploitation, including:

  • slavery;
  • servitude;
  • forced or compulsory labour; and
  • human trafficking.

It can affect people of any age, nationality or background and can occur in a wide range of industries and employment environments.

We recognise that individuals seeking employment may be particularly vulnerable to exploitation.

Our recruitment practices

We aim to ensure that our recruitment practices are conducted ethically and responsibly.

We will:

  • treat candidates fairly, professionally and with respect;
  • provide clear and accurate information about roles and employment opportunities;
  • seek to ensure that candidates understand the nature and relevant terms of an opportunity before proceeding;
  • not knowingly facilitate forced labour, human trafficking or exploitation;
  • not knowingly place candidates into circumstances where there is a significant risk of exploitation;
  • take concerns regarding potential exploitation seriously; and
  • maintain appropriate records and processes in accordance with our legal and regulatory responsibilities.

Where relevant to an assignment, we will undertake appropriate checks relating to candidates, clients and employment arrangements.

Our clients and business relationships

We expect the organisations and individuals with whom we work to share our commitment to ethical employment practices and respect for human rights.

Where appropriate, we will consider the risk of modern slavery and labour exploitation when establishing or reviewing business relationships.

We will not knowingly enter into or continue a business relationship where there are credible concerns that the relationship involves modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking or serious exploitation.

Where concerns arise, we will consider appropriate action, which may include seeking further information, escalating the matter internally or ending the relevant relationship.

Identifying potential concerns

Indicators of modern slavery or exploitation can vary depending on the circumstances.

Potential warning signs may include:

  • an individual appearing to be controlled by another person;
  • restrictions on an individual’s freedom of movement;
  • threats, intimidation or coercion;
  • withholding of identity documents or wages;
  • excessive or unexplained deductions from pay;
  • individuals being required to work under unacceptable conditions;
  • an individual appearing fearful or reluctant to speak freely;
  • accommodation or employment arrangements that appear exploitative; or
  • evidence that an individual has been recruited, transported or placed into work through coercion or deception.

The presence of one indicator does not necessarily mean that modern slavery is taking place. However, concerns should always be taken seriously.

Reporting concerns

Anyone working with or for Bamberry Consulting who has a concern about possible modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour or exploitation should raise the concern as soon as possible.

Concerns can be reported confidentially to:

Bamberry Consulting

Email: contactus@bamberry.co.uk

We will consider reported concerns carefully and take appropriate action.

Where circumstances warrant it, we may report concerns to the relevant authorities or safeguarding organisations.

No individual should knowingly ignore or conceal a genuine concern relating to modern slavery or exploitation.

Employees and awareness

We expect everyone working on behalf of Bamberry Consulting to understand their responsibility to act ethically and to remain alert to potential indicators of modern slavery.

We will provide appropriate information and guidance to employees and representatives where necessary to help them recognise and respond to potential concerns.

Equality, diversity and human rights

Our commitment to preventing modern slavery forms part of our wider commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and respect for human rights.

We believe everyone should be treated fairly, with dignity and respect, regardless of their background or circumstances.

We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, exploitation or abusive treatment in connection with our business or recruitment activities.

Continuous improvement

We will review our approach to modern slavery and human trafficking periodically and consider any changes required as our business, recruitment activities, client relationships or relevant legislation develop.

Where appropriate, we will review our recruitment processes and business relationships to identify and reduce potential risks.
