Interim Safeguarding Integration Manager
Required to:
Strategically lead the safeguarding agenda including advising, supporting, progressing and promoting the council Multi-Agency Safeguarding Adults Framework across all agencies in the Borough and in the work of the Safeguarding Adults Board and its associated workstream sub-groups, providing an independent and objective perspective.
Continuously review and ensure safeguarding and DoLS legislation, policies, Safeguarding Adult Review (SAR) recommendations and LSAB decisions are efficiently and effectively embedded and progressed across partnership organisations, Adult Social Care, and council directorates.
Lead and develop the Safeguarding Adults Board to become outstanding in its role as a highly influential strategic partnership that improves safeguarding front line practice and influences service planning across agencies in the Borough. Managing the Safeguarding Adults Board strategic business planning process and overseeing the operation of the Safeguarding Adults Board and any associated workstream subgroups in meeting the statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, making recommendations for decision making relating to Safeguarding Adults Board priorities and wider safeguarding agenda. In addition to leading and taking responsibility for a workstream subgroup(s), the post holder will undertake tasks and projects and produce key documentation, analysis, reports, policies, procedures and protocols for the Safeguarding Adults Board and represent the Council at Safeguarding Adult Reviews, ensuring effective action plans are developed and monitored on behalf of the Safeguarding Adults Board.
Lead on managing the Safeguarding Adults Board’s relationship with a wide range of senior stakeholders and managers in partner organisations in consultation with the LSAB Independent Chair and key strategic partners across Health and Social Care, as necessary. Providing regular monitoring and activity reports and work with partners to ensure the Safeguarding Adults Board has regular analysis of multi-agency performance data, ensuring there is an agreed Training and Development Strategy in conjunction with the Safeguarding Adults Board Independent Chair, Corporate Learning and Development and other key strategic partners, that delivers multi-agency safeguarding training which meets identified training needs and shows evidence of effectiveness and impact, adopting a Pan-Bedfordshire approach where relevant.
Key experience:
• Substantial post qualifying experience in a safeguarding role, leading and working at a senior level on strategic developments in an area related to safeguarding, dealing with complex and challenging inter agency work and issues.
• Substantial experience of establishing networks, providing effective leadership, development and motivation and line management of staff to produce positive outcomes, including experience of producing and implementing strategies, plans, policies and practice development.
• Substantial and sound knowledge of safeguarding, mental capacity and deprivation of liberty legislation, statutory guidance and procedures, together with the ability to maintain an up to date and thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, policy, procedures, protocols and current research.
