A Culture and Heritage Consultant is required for this local authority to develop strategies and implementation plans that resonate with their experiences and needs within the council.
With an aim to thoroughly understand the unique attributes, strengths, and challenges of the council as well as to gauge what matters most to our residents, businesses, and visitors.
The Consultant/s will have extensive experience in cultural strategy processes, development, and design of effective delivery plans and:
• A clear understanding of the Council and stakeholders’ strategic priorities and how the proposed strategy will contribute to their achievement.
• A comprehensive SWOT analysis of opportunities and challenges for Culture and Heritage development in the council.
• A robust plan for stakeholder engagement and consultation, including the development and facilitation of workshops and interviews and sessions with a cross section of stakeholders, communities, and businesses to better understand Culture and Heritage needs and aspirations. Organisations to provide a picture – data / challenges / ambition – how to highlight cold spots
• Benchmarking with other successful delivery authorities, reviewing examples of best practice.
• A steering group will be required, and monthly meetings or as and when required, will be arranged
• Collection of existing analysis and create headlining information of the current presentation of data relating to culture & heritage to create a shared narrative about the value and reach of the sector.
• Gathering current audience engagement patterns from key stakeholders and identifying opportunities and community desires.
• Identification of clear links and options for collaborative working with creative and heritage industries, higher education, further education, tourism, tech development, and inward investment.
• A compelling and robust framework to attract future investment from public, private, community, and social enterprise sectors,
• Development of a detailed income and expenditure budget for delivering the plan.
• Development of detailed delivery plans for 2025-2030 and indicative plans for 2030-2035.
• A framework for measuring the evaluation and impact of the delivery plan.
